Creating the Minecraft Hoenn Region: Part 3

Part 3 of the creation of the Hoenn Region in Minecraft.

In this part Route 104  and Petalburg Woods get constructed. Route 104 is the first route on this map to have an ocean and a forest within them. As a result it got a bit complicated especially when it came to constructing Petalburg Woods. Looking at the map of Route 104 online I found that Petalburg Woods was eight player tiles (Pokemon) long but in Petalburg Woods it is over 30 player tiles (Pokemon) long. If I was to build Petalburg woods to scale it would throw out and lengthen the size of routes later on.

ROUTE 104:
Route 104 connects Petalburg City to Rustboro City via Petalburg Woods. Route 104 also the start of Route 105 which goes south to Dewford Town via Route 106.

Route 104 is also home to Mr Briney's house who is the old man who ferries you to Dewford Town early on in the game. The Pretty Petal Flower Shop is also on Route 104 where the player can obtain the Wailmer Pail which is used to water planted berries.

This route feels quite a lot larger than I thought it was going to be.

Looking up to Route 104 facing north. This is to just see if the use of Soul Sand is appropriate for making the rock faced drops. I didn't use dirt because before long it would be covered in grass and end up not really look like an in game rock face.

Red sand is place on the existing normal sand to place the water on. This is so the water is flat and consistent at the highest level.

After the water is placed the red sand is removed.

Adding various details including flowers, paths, bridges and podzol for growing berries (not really).

The entire Hoenn Region so far. Render distance is set to the maximum of 16 chunks and that is only just enough to view the whole region so far. I guess I'll need to find a way to fit the whole region in to a screenshot when it is finished or just go without. I guess we'll see when it's finished.

PETALBURG WOODS:
Petalburg woods are located in the middle of Route 104. Because of the small size of Petalburg woods outside on Route 104 and the large size inside Petalburg Woods it was a challenge squeezing it in.

Laying the groundwork. It is possible to get through Petalburg Woods just as you would in the Pokemon game. I had to make a few modifications to Petalburg woods to make it fit. It had to be squashed north and south ways and exteded east and west. In the end it all fitted well.

That's all the progress so far.
In the next part I will cover Rustboro City
Stay tuned.

If you have any tips for improvement please don't hesitate to share. It would be greatly appreciated.
